Republicans for Progress: The Republican Party’s Identity Crisis and the Need for Progress

image depicting the psychosocial political dysfunction of the republican party

The Grand Old Party frequently invokes Abraham Lincoln, yet it no longer embodies his principles. It’s clear the party has lost its direction—but why? In this critical analysis, Dr. Daniel B. Brubaker examines why Republicans struggle to separate fact from fiction and why many leaders persist in spreading conspiracy theories and falsehoods. He delves into the neuropsychological development of toddlers to illustrate how some Republicans exhibit childlike behavior.

Dr. Brubaker concludes that certain Republican Party leaders display antisocial personality traits. Republicans for Progress highlights how fearmongering tactics, such as labeling Democrats as socialists, stem from a misunderstanding of socialism and utilitarianism—terms used merely to incite fear. The author unpacks the far-right nationalist shift within the party, how a clinically psychopathic president seized control, and what crowd psychology reveals about its transformation.

It’s time for all Americans to take action as a minority of Republicans undermine American norms. As a democratic society, we had matured—until 2016, when President Trump regressed our political discourse to that of a five-year-old. Under his administration, the Republican Party dragged America back to the early 1800s, driven by the Christian Right, social conservatives, and right-wing Republicans. Decent Republicans must now rise and form a movement against this destructive faction.

We Are Republicans For Progress

Defining the Republican Divide: Conservatives vs. Progressives

When we use the term Republican (unless otherwise specified), we refer to a specific subgroup, including moderate conservatives, ultra-conservatives, the Christian Right, social right, right-wing, alt-right, and populist Republicans—whose beliefs, values, and policies significantly overlap. This faction now dominates (66-85%) the Republican legislative body in the House and Senate, with most being Trump loyalists.

Republicans for Progress share some overlapping values with Democrats, which will provoke outrage from extreme right-wing Republicans. They will label us RINOs (Republicans in Name Only), claiming our mission is too liberal or progressive. Fine. The real question is: Do Americans want progress and moral leadership, or do they prefer stagnation, ignorance, and regression?

A reminder: Elephants weigh 10 tons, while rhinos weigh just two—but rhinos run faster and can pierce an elephant’s thick skin with their horns. I’ve seen it happen in Tanzania. So, to those using “RINO” as an insult—be careful who you challenge.

Republicans for Progress: Defending Democracy and Rejecting Autocracy

Honest, principled Republicans must stand against the dishonest, authoritarian wing dragging the party into anti-democratic ruin. Wealthy oligarchs like the Koch brothers, Mercers, and Trump’s elite backers are steering the GOP toward Russian-style autocracy. If they call us RINOs, we can call them RATS—Republicans at Trump’s Service.

Democrats didn’t steal the 2020 presidential election—rather, decent Republicans voted for Biden because they had enough. As Republicans for Progress, we believe in supporting candidates who uphold integrity. Until the GOP addresses its deep-seated issues and returns to the values of Lincoln, we should continue voting for Democrats.

A New Republican Vision: Restoring Classic Liberal Values

The mission of Republicans for Progress is to advance America with logical, competitive policies that foster bipartisan cooperation. We advocate for intelligent, practical governance that benefits all Americans. Our vision aligns with classic liberalism—emphasizing equality and the rule of law—over modern conservatism.

For those unfamiliar with political terminology, we provide a resource tab with definitions related to ethics, morality, government, law, religion, psychology, and science. The political spectrum, particularly terms like conservative and liberal, often confuses people, and we aim to clarify these concepts.

The Republican Party was originally built on classic liberalism under President Abraham Lincoln, but after six decades, it shifted toward conservatism. Since then, what meaningful policies has the party truly advanced?

Addressing Mental Health and Political Misinformation in the Republican Party

We also highlight the pressing issue of mental health within today’s Republican leadership, particularly the previous president, Donald J. Trump. Republican voters should be mindful of these concerns when selecting candidates for Congress.

Republicans continue to weaponize fear—especially regarding socialism—wrongly labeling Democrats as socialists. It’s time to educate Americans on the reality: socialism poses no threat in a free-market society. Understanding the distinction between socialism and social democracy is essential.

Another frequently misused term is critical race theory, often distorted by fearful, racist Republicans. Similarly, woke has been hijacked and misrepresented. Republicans for Progress aims to correct these misconceptions and promote informed political discourse.

It is time for all Americans to PANIC with a minority of Republicans damaging American Norms. As a society in a democracy, we have matured up until 2016. During that year President Trump reduced our maturity level to that of a 5-year old. The Republican Party has returned America to the early 1800s. This is all a result of the Christian Right, Social Conservatives, and right-wing Republicans gaining power under the Trump administration. It is time for decent Republicans to form a rebellious movement against this minority group.

We use the term REPUBLICAN (unless otherwise specified) throughout, which only represents a subgroup or minority of Republicans. When using the term Republicans, we are defining the moderate right conservatives, ultra-conservatives, Christian Right, social right, right-wing, alt-right and populist Republicans. Because with each group their beliefs, values, policies, etc. similarly overlap. This group has become the majority (66-85%) of the Republican legislative body in the House and Senate. Most all of the people in this grouping are followers of Trump as well.

Republicans for Progress have some overlapping values and policies similar to those of the Democrats. There will be those horrible, vicious, and angry Republicans (Trump followers) and right-wing Republicans who will call us RINOs (Republicans in Name Only). They will say that our mission is too liberal, progressive and like that of the Democrats. Okay! The question before us, “Do Americans want America to make progress and become morally utilitarian, or stay stagnant, uneducated, ignorant and retrogressive?”

Let this be a reminder, elephants weight 10 tons and rhinos only weight 2 tons, with rhinos being 2-3 times smaller. However rhinos run 2-3 times as fast as elephants and with their horns, they can penetrate the thick skin of an elephant and kill the elephant. I know: I saw it happen in Tanzania Africa. So, you name-calling, mudslinging Republicans, “Be careful who you call RINOs!”

Decent, respectful, honest Republicans must rise up against the disrespectful, mean, dishonest, horrible, fascist Republicans who are leading the Republican Party down the nefarious path of anti-democratic evil. The greedy U.S. oligarchs (Koch brothers, Mercers, and rich Trump supporters) to stop running the Republican Party into a Russian-style autocratic governing power. If Republicans want to call us RINOs, we could respond and call this group of Republicans and Trump allies, RATS, (Republicans at Trump’s Services).

Democrats didn’t steal the 2020 presidential elections; rather decent Republicans voted for Biden, because they had enough. As RINOs we should keep voting for Democrats until the Republicans get mental health help, and return to the values and respected Party of Lincoln.

The mission of Republicans for Progress is to move America forward in a positive, logical, competitive country. It wants to see Republicans and Democrats work together with useful, intelligent, and reasonable polices to promote Americans and the United States. We want to identify more with classic liberalism with equality and rule of law.

REPUBLICANS FOR PROGRESS.

We have a tab for definitions related to ethics, morality, government, law, religion, psychology and science for those who want to add definitions to their vocabulary.

There is a political spectrum of “Left” and “Right” that is confusing for those who are not familiar with political terms like conservative and liberal.

The policies of the Republican Party at its origins with President Abraham Lincoln was that of classic liberalism, as opposed to modern liberalism. Classic liberal polices lasted with the Party and then dissipated after about six decades to conservatism.

After classical liberalism polices, what policies have the Republicans established up until the present?

We find issues regarding the mental health of the current Republican legislature and especially of the previous president, Donald J. Trump. We think Republicans should be aware of these mental issues; especially when picking a Republican candidate for congress.

Republicans keep instilling fear of socialism to Americans. They especially call Democrats socialists. We thought it was time to educate Americans about socialism in the United States, because there is no threat of socialism, nor will it take place in a free market society. Learn the difference between socialism and social democracy.

A term that is used often by fearful, racist Republicans is critical race theory. The term is abused and misused. Learn the real meaning of the term critical race theory. Another misused term is woke.
